What do your PTSA dues do for MOHS?



Student Support:
Provides…
·        Breakfast and snack for all students on ACT testing day
·        Five $1000 scholarships for seniors
·        Stipends for students who participate in National competitions on the mainland (State Champion Mock Trial and DECA teams, Art Club, HOSA, and the nationally recognized MeneMac , etc.)
·        Prizes for school winners in contests such as the National PTA Reflections Arts Program
·        Funding for the school’s annual May Day Celebration
·        Miscellaneous funding as need arises
o   Provided funds to build a wheelchair ramp needed during graduation ceremony
o   Paid for lunches for judges for Senior Project
Faculty Support:
Provides…
·        Funding for professional development
·        Funding for travel when accompanying students and/or representing the school
·        Faculty Appreciation Luncheon and gift
School Improvement: 
Provides...
 AC for classrooms


National and State PTSA Membership: 
Provides…

·         Funds for membership to the State PTSA and National PTA, the largest children's advocacy group in the country (over 4 million members)

Projects/Programs:
Kina'ole Awards Banquet & Silent Auction:  One and only PTSA fundraiser that raises monies for the school

Project Grad:  Coordinates and funds alcohol-free annual event for seniors
Reflections Program:  Coordinates and funds annual contest that showcases musical, artistic, and literary talents of MOHS students
Parent Workshops:  Coordinates quarterly informative sessions on a variety of topics related to young adults
Principal Hour:  Provides refreshments while parents are meeting with our MOHS Principal
